Overview

Gitzo GH2750QR Magnesium Off Center Ball head with Quick Release system is a unique head from Gitzo, allows unsurpassed position freedom by offering a range of movement impossible with conventional heads and capable to support equipments up to 5 kg in Gitzo standard (12.5 kg according to other measuring standard).

The look and design of the magnesium outer shell is still same with G1276M, but the internal components and mechanism have been fully re-engineered. The weight has been reduced by 15 – 17% and the sphere is now PTFE treated for a greater smoothness and precision.

The knobs have a different design that improves ergonomics, allows for a better operation and contributes to the weight reduction. The internal locking mechanism is the key innovation. First of all the panoramic lock, developed with a new concept, is now 3 times stronger than before. This is a terrific advantage when these heads are used with lateral arms or with centre column in horizontal position (like with the Explorer tripods). The ball lock now features a completely new patent-pending system.

Key Features
Spring assisted double lock
The new center SADL (Spring Assisted Double Lock) is a patent pending system that combines two locking systems in one, that maximizes both locking power and ball smoothness. A high friction metal guarantees a high efficiency lock, the PTFE bushing controlled by a pre loaded spring maximizes smoothness and control.

Safe Grip
Safe Lock is a special techno polymer that maximizes locking torque and equipment stabilisation. It is used on the upper discs of tripods and heads, and in applications where the equipment is rotated and screwed onto the support to eliminate micro movements and vibration.

Separate pan control
When using a ball head, the ability to lock and unlock the panoramic movement independent of front-back or lateral tilt movements is convenient for panoramic photography and when a high level of control is required.

Separate friction control
By fine tuning the freedom of movement of the head, friction control makes the head slower and more precise or faster and looser. This feature also helps to make using heavy equipment or long lenses safer. On ball and fluid head models without separate friction controls, slowly adjusting the lock knobs gives similar results.

Double Quick Release safe system
The system consists of two pins, one fixed and one manually operated by means of a button, that prevent camera equipment from suddenly dropping out of the head when the quick release locking knob is released. Extremely useful with heavy equipment, long lenses and spotting scopes.

PTFE – smooth as silk
PTFE is a special treatment that generates a unique ultra smooth surface and dramatically reduces friction between moving parts. This treatment bonds strongly with metal surfaces and ensures long-lasting performance. This treatment is now applied not only to ball heads, but also to plates, video bowls and other sliding parts for smooth, precise and fine movements.
